Antique Brass Medal by Penin Poncet Our Lady of the Cenacle Opus Dei Erant Omnes
Description
This is from around 1880-1900. Very good condition. Measures (28.1 gr +- 40 mm +-) loop present also for hanging. Brass and signed by the Famous Penin medallist. This medal was issued to Jesuits and priests and is very rare to find. The text is in latin on both sides. 'erant omnes perseverantes unanimiter in oratione' is a writing of the founder of the Opus Dei movement (Jesuits too) and means 'all these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer.' On the back is a depiction of Jesus and the Apostles and the latin text 'semper vivens ad interpellandum pro nobis' - 'seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for us'.
