The giant sulphur (Colias Gigantea) steals the show on this breathtaking coin. It is one of Canada's largest sulphurs with a wingspan of 37 to 55 mm and is one of the few butterfly species known to inhabit the Arctic. Most people will spot this wonder throughout the northern and western regions of Canada, in moist areas like bogs, meadows and roadside ditches where willows and flowers are plentiful.
