Many groups refer to the wolf for its lesson of humility; the recognition that each of us is a small part of a larger whole. The wolf's devotion to its pack teaches us to put the needs and well-being of others above our own interests and desires; that "community" is essential to our survival and success.

Canadian Metis artist Nathalie Bertin, has created a powerful design of the fundamental elements part of this teaching. A wolf and an abstract figure howling together in harmonious co-existence. In the background, a pattern of tobacco leaves reinforces the wolf's teaching of humility.
