In a world of ancient symbols, Canada's Coat of Arms is surprisingly young, having been proclaimed by King George V in 1921 and making its first appearance on Canadian coins in 1936. Over the past 68 years, the Canadian Coat of Arms has evolved, just as the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been modified to reflect the transition from newly crowned queen (1953) to accomplished monarch (1965, 1990 and 2003).
Each coin in this distinctive set features one of these historic effigies with the Coat of Arms as it appeared when each new effigy was introduced, three different Coat of Arms in all. Complete in deluxe presentation case.
