The Holy Land Commission in Canada is the Canadian office of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land, which is located in Jerusalem and serves the Church in Israel, Palestine and neighboring countries.
Organization
The Holy Land Commission in Canada reports to a board of directors which meets regularly to direct the finances of the Commission, approve funded work in the Holy Land, and oversee the progress of that work. This organizational structure and administrative procedure conforms to the regulations indicated in its federal charter, as obtained in 1963 and renewed in 2014.
The president of the corporation and the commissioner of Canada is a Franciscan friar from the Canadian Province of the Holy Spirit, Father Bob Mokry. He is assisted in daily administration by an administrative assistant, Ms. Jeanne d'Arc Habarugira.

What we do
At the request of the Holy See and with the approval of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Canadian Commissariat helps care for these Christian brothers and sisters and the holy sites. Normally, this is done by the men and women of our Canadian Church who contribute generously to the Good Friday collection carried out for the needs of the Holy Land.
Thanks to the normal Good Friday collection, resumed in Canada and in the Catholic world, the Franciscan friars of the Holy Land, with the help of other congregations and religious organizations, are able to maintain the sanctuaries, continue their works social and educational, to support the declining Christian population and to help the poor.
