The British gold sovereign was one of the world's most famous gold coin of the modern era, and the flagship coin of the Royal Mint. And for the first time in 1908, a limited number of these sovereigns were minted at our very own Ottawa facility. Step into the past—our past—with a fully gold-plated 99.99% pure silver tribute to the 1908 British gold sovereign coin. With the exception of a proof finish and an amended date of “2018”, the reverse design is nearly identical to the original sovereign that was struck 110 years ago, including the same “C” mint mark that proudly denotes the country of production.
